500 High-efficiency Chromium Plating Process
500 High-efficiency Chromium Plating Process
The coating obtained by the 500 process has a strong adhesion to the substrate, and the pretreatment is the same as that of traditional chrome plating, making it easy to operate. The plating solution has good dispersing ability, and the coating thickness is uniform. It is not prone to rough pitting. The appearance is brighter and smoother than traditional chrome plating. It does not contain fluoride, and there is no corrosion in low current density areas of the workpiece. The anodic performance is good, and the corrosion of the anode is the same as or lower than that of traditional chrome plating. The coating has a high hardness (HV900 - 1260, according to GB9790 - 88). It has good wear resistance and friction resistance (20-30% higher than traditional chrome plating). The chrome layer has many microcracks (400-1500 cracks/cm), and the wear resistance is higher (twice as high as traditional chrome plating). The cathodic current efficiency is high (22%-27%) and the deposition rate is fast (more than twice as fast as traditional chrome plating). At a cathodic current density of 60 A/dm2 and a temperature of 55-65, the current efficiency can reach 25%, and the deposition rate can reach 60μm/h. This process can save nearly 1 time the electricity usage, improve work efficiency by 1-2 times, save labor, shorten the processing cycle, and reduce the overall cost of electroplating.
