SLOTOFIN 41 Sealer is suitable for the post-treatment of passivation of zinc and zinc alloys. If the solution is operated exclusively with SLOTOFIN 41 Sealer Concentrate, the transparent passivate is closed and dried to obtain an organic protective film with increased corrosion protection, improved resistance to fingerprint contamination and good appearance. Sealing of galvanized blue-white passivate films and transparent passivate films on zinc alloys with SLOTOFIN 41 gives the same appearance of transparent workpieces. After yellow passivation sealing the iridescence of the surface disappears and a homogeneous yellowish sealing layer is produced.SLOTOFIN 41 Sealer can be used on wet and pre-dried workpieces. The drying temperature must not exceed 140 °C.
Higher temperatures will cause discoloration of the SLOTOFIN 41 Sealer. SLOTOCLEAN AK 160 Degreaser and SLOTOCKEAN VF100 Degreasing Additive are used to remove SLOTOFIN 41 Sealer from hangers or centrifuge baskets. It is advisable not to use sodium hydroxide solution to remove residual sealer.
